Can I still work with Microsoft Word
Yes. If you have existing Microsoft® Word® documents, you can edit them directly from Docs without converting them.
If you’d like to use Docs collaboration features, such as simultaneous editing with your team and targeted feedback comments, you can import Word files and convert them to Docs. For more information, see Get started with Docs.
What types of files can I
import and convert to Docs?
The following file types can be converted to Docs:
- .doc (if newer than Microsoft® Office® 95)
- plain text (.txt)

Can I download or export
Docs in different file format?
Yes, you can download Docs as other file formats such as Microsoft® Word® and Adobe® PDF documents. For a list of supported formats, see Get started with Docs.
Who can view my Docs?
By default, Docs you create are private to you. However, if you create a new document in a shared folder, it has the same sharing permissions as the folder does—anyone who can view that folder's contents can also view your new document. For more information, see Get started with Docs.
How can I switch to an earlier draft of my document or see who made one of the
changes I’m seeing?
Docs keeps all your drafts in one file, along with a record of who made which changes, so there’s no need to keep multiple copies of a document. See Switch to an earlier version of your document.
Can I share
documents with people outside of my organization?
Yes, as long as this option has been enabled by your G Suite administrator. If it is, you can share any of your documents with customers, suppliers, and others outside of your domain.
