Overview
Google Sheets is very useful when it comes to listing tasks in a collaborative effort: personal to-do lists with friends and family or task lists as a project management interface requiring team-wide coordination.
Add Reminders will help you save time by automating a time-consuming process: sending reminders to your contacts and to yourself.

Set up notifications to be sent months, weeks, days or hours before / after each deadline. 
Choose who to notify for each task by adding email addresses in a designated column, separating addresses with a comma. Your contacts will get the notifications according to the settings you chose as well as a direct access to the spreadsheet.

Add Reminders is helpful for personal and / or professional use.
In your personal life
- Send reminders to yourself and your partner about bills to pay before a specific deadline
- In your collaborative blog, send reminders about a list of videos / articles to put online at a specific date by specific people
- Receive a reminder about books to return to the library (especially useful if return dates are different according to the books)
- When preparing a trip far ahead: get a reminder the day before tickets sale opens for a plane, a train…

At work
- Schedule reminders for coworkers to contact clients X days after their payment deadline is overdue
- On the day after each meeting, send automatic reminders to coworkers to write reports
- When working on a collaborative project, send reminders about tasks to accomplish before or after specific stepping stones.
- Send reminders to employees or members of an association when it’s time to renew annual fees

Education
- Send reminders to a whole class when papers are due in a few days
- Send reminders to parents a week before each teacher / parent meetings or any other important event at school

This app does not seem to be working anymore, which is very unfortunate considering that when it did work it worked very well. Please fix your app!

It worked really well for a short time and then just stopped working entirely. I don't have time to go into the document everyday to make sure it is functioning like it should. Does anyone have an alternative that works better?

Like others, I found this add-on very frustrating. Firstly, I could only get it to work on a freshly created worksheet built for the purposes; adding it to an existing sheet wouldn't work. That was not so bad, as I could easily enough create a dedicated sheet that pulled the necessary data from my existing sheets. Secondly it only seems capable of sending one reminder. Whenever I tried to set up a second reminder, the first stopped working. I even tried creating separating worksheets for each reminder, but no joy. Again, not critical - two reminders would be nice, but not essential. Thirdly, and most critically, like others, I found that it stops working after a few weeks. I can get it to work again by opening the sheet and add-on, editing the reminder and saving it (unchanged). This works again for a few weeks at which point it fails again. This makes it worse than useless, as the whole point of a reminder is to help you not forget something.

It does not work and I am unable to understand if the date is to save in MMDDYY or DDMMYY format I am looking for help but not a response

I don't think the display format matters at all. But make sure that your cell is a date field - provided it is a Date (and not text that happens to look like a date), then it should work.

It worked well at first, then stopped working for no reason like everyone else's experience. I removed it and reinstalled, it works now.

It does what I need. I hope I will work without issues mentioned in comments. Function which can be an obstacle in some applications: - with one cell (which include date) can be related only one reminder; - the lowest remainder time can be set to 1 hour. - subject of e-mail can be only static text. Formulas cannot be used in subject. For example include name of task in subject; - e-mail include all columns of task row; - not possible to create personalized e-mail based on task row or use a formula.

Disappointed that I cannot specify an exact date and time to get reminders. For a time based application for reminders, I would need to be reminded 10 minutes before a deadline of 12:42am on 9/27/16 which is impossible to accomplish. If you only need a day's notice then this would work for you. Later reading previous reviews, I'm cautious when multiple reviews suggest that this app is undependable because it stops working after a while.
