Overview
Asana is the best way to manage your tasks and projects, and now you can use it to turn emails into tasks without leaving your Gmail inbox.

Email is great for communication but it wasn’t built for tracking to-dos or managing projects. When you turn your emails into tasks and track them in Asana with your teammates, everyone knows who is doing what, and by when.

With Asana for Gmail you can
-Turn an email into a task, assign it to yourself or a teammate, set a due date, add it to a project, and include attachments.
-Track the task in Asana with your teammates as part of project planning
-See any updates to synced tasks made within Asana without leaving email
-Search for and reference existing tasks in Asana without leaving email

Asana is the easiest way for teams to plan, manage, and track their work—so you know who’s doing what by when. It’s free & simple to get started, and powerful enough to run your entire business. Visit us at www.asana.com

Note for Admins: Google doesn't currently allow GSuite Admins to install Gmail Add-Ons. We will provide an update on this feature as soon as the support is added, and we will update the listing as soon as we're able to offer this add-on to our admin users as well.

Love Asana and love the gmail integration. We use it across the office with all our employees and contractors and saves a ton of time. It's better than the chrome extension because the gmail extension actually saves links to the email isnide the task - so when you want to return to the email from your task it works great. There are some negative reviews here, and that's too bad - asana support is good if you've got a premium account. It's not too expensive and worth the extra features. If you have free asana - support is kind of self help. Anyway, we love this app for gmail.

Says installed but doesn't appear in the Gmail interface. Raised this as a support call with Asana on the 12th Aug. Still no fix and no longer getting any updates on the status of this case. Looks like they've given up.

It's good it was released! Installed fast but works Slow! What's the problem, too many pipes? I have 10 seconds for opening my task from search, some unrealistic numbers on saving tasks. It has good future but with current speed it's unusable even if UX is fixed. And UX is broken in a few places, like this tool readily loses my draft task if I switch to another email or to inbox. It just deletes everything I wrote in, clears it all. It's a spartanian way to work ready to lose your content at any second, really. I would expect Asana add-on to have the same UX paradigm as the one Asana has towards drafts - save it character by character, never let my draft die, ok? And man, working on this thing but not putting out "Inbox" and "Today" is a crime. I want them in Gmail, they are my work, add them? Thank you for your work! V.

I thought that, but then realised I have closed a sidebar on the RIGHT-HAND side of my emails, within which the Asana icon was hiding. I had small arrow at the bottom right of my emails that I used to open that sidebar

Edited my first comment. Asana did work even in GSuite Admins. Button appeared after around 15 minutes. It's likable now, at least Asana can already be accessed even for Free Users. What to expect: 1. Need to search for the Project Name where you will put the task, since it doesn't show automatically. 2. You might freeze first time seeing it because you don't know what to do when it's there. 3. Basically, it's just to add task to your Asana, not display your tasks like what Keep Notes or Google Tasks show. 4. Slow to access, there's buffer time loading next pages, but I guess since it's 3rd party app, that's the reason why there's delay. Great way to add to Asana tasks from your email directly, so it's a great tool for me. :)

Installed OK for me, started working right away. Tiny Asana logo appears in right side bar. This seems really promising, just a few glitches noticed in first 30 seconds of use: 1) slow to open and update, wait 1-2 seconds which is a lot in a clogged email box, 2) once you are in an email and have opened the Asana add-on within the email and selected a project, you can't delete it......have to overwrite it with another project.

Appears in Gmail but shows none of my actual Asana content, rendering this integration useless.
