This add-on lets you instantly convert every math equation in your document into beautiful latex images!

Overview
This add-on lets you automatically convert every LaTeX equation in your document into beautiful images! Simply enclose your math equations within $$ ... $$ and click the button in the sidebar, and all of your equations will be rendered in LaTeX!

This add-on has many advantages when compared to other formula editors or the default Google Docs equation editors.

★ Convert multiple equations at the same time, using any function supported by LaTeX!
★ Always render in the highest quality!
★ By using automatic sizing, the rendered image will exactly match the font size of the equation! To change size, simply drag the box or change the original font size.
★ By using inline sizing, fractions and other tall expressions will be shortened to match the rest of the expression!
★ If you want to change the equation after it has been rendered, just click the 'De-render Equation' button!
★ Type equations directly into your document instead of clicking to an external sidebar!
★ Change colors and font settings in your equations using CodeCogs LaTeX commands!
★ Only converts equations within $$ or \[ symbols, meaning you render only the equations you want to have rendered!
★ NEW! Option to de-render all equations!
★ Actively updated, meaning YOUR feedback can help improve future versions of the add-on! For more info, check our website at autolatex.com.

Permissions Explained:

Permissions always look scary. Here is a clear list of the permissions needed, and the reasons why.

★ View and manage your documents in Google Drive - The application needs to be able to search the documents for equations, then edit the documents by inserting the LaTeX.

★ View and manage data associated with the application - Each user has preferences (for instance, the size setting that you selected), and these need to stay between closing/opening the sidebar. Note that this data is strictly local and never transmitted or uploaded.

★ Allow this application to run when you are not present - Once the "Render Equations" button is clicked, the application needs time to retrieve equations, render them, download them, then place them in the document. This permission only says that when you switch to another tab, the processes can still run in the background.

★ Connect to an external service - The application needs to fetch images from CodeCogs/TeXRendr/Roger's renderer.

Not only buggy, but outright destructive: this extension will take your code and not render it with any consistency regardless of the tightness of your code, and will sometimes give you someone else's equation entirely unrelated to your input. I would say that for any given input, the success rate of this extension is ~80%, which might be minimally functional if it were not for the propensity for this extension to return totally corrupted code during the de-rendering process, including deleting parts of written text elsewhere in your document, including destroying text that was neithr included in the code, nor having symmetry to the input code text, nor being in the graphical neighborhood of it, nor preceding nor adjoining the input code. The extension is unstable in its functionality.

Perfect for writing a few quick equations in a document I want to post. Works much better than Docs native equation editor and is much more flexiable.

Fantastic. It can convert all equations in the document in one go. Most importantly, it works unlike Docx2LaTeX I tried.

The best LaTeX renderer for the Google suite I've found! Although it does occasionally hang if you give it incorrect syntax, it works well and I've used it consistently to make study documents and write papers. The de-render button is something I've never seen elsewhere, and all those little touches just make this a million times better than everything else I've tried, even the paid ones. If you know plaintext LaTeX, this is the best one out there to my knowledge!

A very useful and reliable tool! I would love if the resolutions of the compiled equations could be made more consistent, though! Generally they're wonderful, but at times, for some reason (which may very well stem from my inadequacy at using the tool) the resolution drops. Overall still extremely pleased!

This is such a great extension. The alternative before I had this was to use the awful equation editor on google docs which can hardly do a nice square root. Either that or bring images in which could not be later updated. I'm going to donate some money to this.

Very useful. As a Ph.D. student, sharing drafts with colleagues with GDocs is pretty convenient, but adding equations is a pain. Auto-LaTeX makes it straightforward. And it's cool that you can de-render the equations and copy your stuff directly onto any LaTeX editor or Overleaf.

Works very well most of the time, however sometimes the server (?) seems to lag and then give you equations other people wrote.
