Appends Google Form question responses to the bottom of selected Google Docs.

Works with
Use a Google Form to select which Doc(s) to append from a list, multiple-choice, or checkbox Form question -- pre-populated with Doc titles from a folder in Drive.

- Hooks up to a folder in Drive, turning one of your form questions into a Doc picker -- including the ability to use checkboxes or a "Select all" question to append a single form response to multiple docs.
- Lets you choose which question responses to append -- e.g. leaving certain questions out can be a powerful way to keep "shared" and "private" feedback on the same doc separate.
- Can include Timestamp and Username as fields to include.
- Appends form responses in one of three ways: Bulleted list, separate vertical tables, or new rows in a single horizontal table.

- Keep a Google Doc per student where you log a running record of observations around a particular skill, like reading or numeracy.
- Use for documenting teach inter-visitations, where each teacher gets a single running document of all visits to their classroom.
- Great for applying custom, Forms-based rubric assessments on student documents. Integrates nicely with Google - Classroom assignments -- just choose the folder that contains all student Docs and get on with grading all "turned in" docs in your own way.
- Set up a single Doc per kid via autoCrat or Doctopus and then post daily or weekly "prompts" to the end of the doc via a Google Form.
- Great for peer review protocols on student Docs that you have editing rights on. Give all students the link to your form and their peer assessments will all paste into the bottom of the selected student doc.

I had such high hopes for using this add-on, but evidently it only works with the old Google sheets? (I can't see it in my add-ons.) I can only run the script editor in the new sheets and that doesn't allow you to find docAppender. If I am wrong and someone can help me, I'll gladly retract my review.

Use it all the time for collecting student data and providing feedback for my students

Is is possible for just the items checked in a list to show up in the doc? In my form I have to check all items. Then my doc is filled with empty rows. If just the items chosen were sent to the doc that would make things better.

I have the same issue. Did you find a solution that eliminate the empty rows ?

reverse order (most recent first) of the appended responses would be great.

is this now possible? If so - how?

I hope this turns out as good as I have planned for it. Great way to keep all my assessments and feedback in one place. Now .... Just wondering... Is it possible to 'append' to the top of the doc so that the most recent entry can be seen first? Sort by date - most recent.

This is a great add-on, and thanks for providing it for free! A couple things I would like to see - 1) It would be nice if it would auto-populate the form drop-down question automatically instead of having to run the add-on setup again. (So if a doc is added to the folder it auto-populates instead of having to run the add-on again.) 2) Have the option of the documents being either docs or sheets. I know you still have the form responses in the main sheet and can use filters, etc... for viewing, but it would be nice at times to have the option of indivual sheets instead of docs. Thanks agian, a very useful add-on!

My understanding is that DocAppender does not integrate with Google Classroom through Doctapus until after students have opened the specific assignment. A Form cannot therefore be pre-set to append feedback in real-time? Am I correct? When I have tried to set up a Form with Docappender at the same time as the assignment template, the responses have not appended. What am I missing?

As a teacher, DocAppender changed my life! I use it for all my exit tickets and assessments, I even use it as a rubric. It can occasionally be buggy, but 99% of the time, it works like a charm. Thanks, DocAppender!
