Overview
BRAND NEW VERSION!

v 1.0 DocuTube will handle search, embed, and watching videos all from your Google Doc!

Search: Find videos, playlists, or channels you want to link in your document.
    - Search defaults to safe mode, so it's great for schools
    - Searches are cached for faster retreival
    - Video previews are available before you embed your video into the document.

Embed: When you find the video you want, link it straight into your document
    - Copy the link to your clipboard
    - Embed the video thumbnail and automatically link it to the video, playlist, or channel
    - Insert custom text and automatically link to the video, playlist, or channel.

Watch: Play videos linked in the document in a sidebar so you don't have to leave your document
    - All videos are loaded at the same time - comments included!

Changelog
-----
v0.7.1 DocuTube is now limited to the current document only. Permissions details are now posted at https://ohheybrian.com/privacy/docutube.html

v0.7 Select videos from the documents or comments. Toggle between each using the source select links in the popup and sidebar window.

v0.6 You can now watch videos in a sidebar rather than a popup. This allows you to work on your document while the video is playing.

See the addon in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIS4n7ivfBI

Google Docs do not allow you to embed videos. Rather than jumping in and out of your document each time you click a video link, DocuTube automatically creates an embedded YouTube video in a popup using the links already in the document.

It reads any type of YouTube link including links in images.

**Note that Google Drawings are not supported at this point due to limitations in Google's code.**

Hi Jack, Sorry to hear that. Where is the video linked? It's a YouTube video, right?

Really great addon, where has this been all my life (since I got on the GDocs train!); does it work on Slides or Spreadsheets as well, by any chance? A resizing of the window when in sidebar would be cool. Thanks!

What's not working for you? Do you have videos included in the document already?

Does not work. UI really unclear. The sidebar opens "loading your videos" (where exactly from??) and there are no actual options to choose from. All I wanted is to embed a video from a public Youtube link...

This displays videos that are already linked in the document - it isn't for finding and adding a video. Do you have a link present already?

This is a great idea. I've added it to my list for the next update. Regarding the timestamp playback, I'm using a pretty brute-force approach to getting the videos to load. One thing I'd like to do is refine how I load the videos which would allow me to then playback using the timestamp. It's on the list of things to implement as well. Thanks for using!

Also, this ignores timecoded URLs right now and just plays the video from the beginning. It would be awesome if it recognized a URL like this: https://youtu.be/5ZlOn9V_MmE?t=2s (means the video starts at :02 when you click play). I'd pay $5 for an add-on that could do this, as well as pull videos from comments! A master list of all YouTube links in a sidebar as embeds, in the order they appear in the doc, including comments? That would be amazing. Thanks again!

Useless. You can't work on doc and have a small video in the corner. It takes up the whole screen. You should be able to shrink the screen so you can continue working on doc. Useless.

Thanks for the suggestion Ryan. I've added this feature to the Addon. You can now choose between a popup player (large videos) and a sidebar view (smaller videos). I hope it's helpful!
