Overview
The Goal Seek add-on for Google Sheets enables users to calculate the required value of a cell to achieve a desired formula value in another cell. You can use it to conduct break-even analysis, or determine subcomponent targets when modeling future outcomes. You can also modify parameters that Goal Seek uses to determine a solution or load previous calculations.

Apologies for the performance issues! The problem should be fixed now.

The old Goal Seek (written by a third party?) used to work fine (slow, but it got a result). It has disappeared and appears to have been replaced by this new Google Goal Seek that doesn't come up with a result. My goal is complex and does not correlate linearly with the cell being changed. It also removes the formatting of the cells being changed and overwrites the formula in the goal sell. Really annoying! Give me back the old one! Update: If that's not enough the "Send Feedback doesn't work either"

Thank you for your feedback! I'm sorry to hear the new experience has been frustrating - we've updated Goal Seek to now preserve cell formatting and have fixed the feedback form. Regarding getting results and the cell formula being overwritten, would you be able to confirm that you're adding the cell with the formula (i.e. the goal cell) to the "Set Cell" field? We really value your observations as we continue to work to improve Goal Seek! :)

Good job. It feels a bit more familiar than the alternative add-on called Solver. It isn't exactly blazingly fast. But it works. I'll never understand why Google couldn't have built a native Goal Seek algorithm into Sheets. It's something that everyone needs and uses. And good old Regula Falsi is easy to program.
