Overview
Use this add-on to setup email notifications on a Google Sheet when specific cells reach set values.
This add-on will load a sidebar menu for you and you can then begin to set up notification rules on your Google Sheet. You can add as many rules as you like and the add-on will keep a track of them. You can track single cell references on a worksheet called ‘Notification Rules’ and you now have the option to track across Rows or Columns entirely. You can view these three worksheets and even amend the rules directly on the sheet.

Once the spreadsheet is changed and the values reach the notification rules you have set you will automatically receive an email to inform you. You can also add multiple email addresses to one notification rule simply by separating them by a comma. You can also use Slack notifications instead of emails if you prefer.

Is it possible to schedule triggers to run at a specific time of the day? I want three separate triggers to run once a day at three different times

Hi. You can edit directly on the rules sheet worksheet

It's not bad but not useful for a shared spreadsheet where you can't add a new sheet for "Notification rules". It should work without the need of creating that at the sight of everyone.

Would hiding the worksheet solve this problem for you?

Agreed! I was hoping to use this for a work document and be notified only when my department is selected in a specific column, but I can't do that without adding the new Sheet. :( Hoping this can be changed!

Really handy Add-on. Though I am looking for a bit more control. I want an email to be sent if a date in a column is within the next 2 weeks. I've found a formula format a cell in red when this is the case but really need an alert too. Any ideas?

Create a helper column with =FILTER(A:A, A:A<Today()+14) where A:A is the range of the date column. Then create an alert for the first cell of the helper column (if(!isblank()). Alternatively a single helper cell for the alert =IF(COUNTIF(A:A, "<" & Today() +14)>0,1,0)

I think it was working ok until I edited the content of the cells to personalize my email message. I was only using the "Manual Run Check" button though, so not sure if it will work automatically like needed.

So, I simply need to send an email to any person who edited any row, once a specific column value is edited. This feature does not seem to exist. Any recommendations?

so far so good! just a suggestion: it would be great if in the webhook I could pass values, such as standard json keypairs in order to have customized behavior with IFTTT
