Overview
Looking for a way to make your Google Docs beautiful? The MindMeister add-on for Google Docs has you covered!

With the click of a button, you can turn any bullet-point list into a visual mind map, which is then inserted directly into your Google doc. The mind map will include all information covered within the list, with the first point becoming the root topic of the mind map and the rest of the first-level bullet points becoming topics, branching off from the centre. Any second-level points are then turned into sub-topics, branching off from their respective parent topics, and so on.

This integration is a simple way to quickly visualize lists and add a graphical overview to your documents and data. What’s more, it’s totally free to get started!

This creates just an image that is pasted into the doc, which can be useful for printing the doc or just the map for ease of reading. While the map looks good, it only works for smaller bits of information. Getting larger than a sentence with each bullet makes the map to small to read or use. For some reason I was hoping it would act like an interactive element. But that was me jumping to conclusions.

I really like this tool! I can see using it with students to create mind maps out of what they have written. I Not being able to edit the mind map may potentially be a problem if you are creating an analysis of a problem and need to refine it, but in the classroom I can see how this can help student identify main ideas and subtopics (or the lack of).

This is AWESOME!!!! I LOVE it! I have been using MindMeister for two years now on a community project and love the way mindmaps communicate lists to creative actors in the team. This is such a simple way to make a nice little point on a one-page proposal.. I might even insist we have a mindmap simplification for all of them in the future! and to make it so easy to use.. I almost feel bad for wanting to tell other people about this simple piece of magic!

I like it, it works as described. I can tell this is an early concept. As you add in features it will become much more usable/ IE we need to be able to edit these once created.

Good idea. I like to see lists as mind maps. I would like to increase the font size and have the mind map in landscape on the page.

Converts a list into a static mindmap image. Doesn't update the image if you update the list and you can't edit the mindmap. This is not very useful and defeats the purpose of using a mindmap, rather than a list, for brainstorming, etc.

Poor execution of the mind map concept. Impossible to edit, and oft poorly generated, image hamfisted into the document. Useless for any sense of organization, and doubly useless for larger lists because the image is too large to fit into a single page and what little you can see is illegible to boot.

I agree that being able to take this into an "Editing mode" would be handy. But for quick illustration via Mindmap this is terrific! I advise not deleting the original document having the original outline bullet list so you can edit and add to it so as to generate an updated Mindmap. That is, to this conversion in a copy and then delete the outline from that. What a great way to introduce Mindmaps as a concept to people not familiar with them!

While it was nice to auto generate a mind map from an item list, having no ability to edit the mind map was very disappointing. We need to be able to edit them at least. Give us access to edit the mind map on your site by double clicking on the diagram at least. Not being able to make use of the set of features your service provides via any addon is not very useful at all; both to your business model as well as your perspective customers.

Absolutely unusable. Does not really integrate with google docs. After finally getting it to work, the results were a grainy looking chart that could have been made easier and far better in any presentation software. You cannot edit it after it is made.
