OrangeSlice: Teacher Rubric
Easily and quickly make rubric selections and convert the Analysis or Holistic rubric into a percentage or points grade. Teacher Rubric is an add-on that will increase your grading productivity and it professionally presents a scored rubric and grade for your students. Google docs and Classroom are fantastic applications to create, distribute and receive submitted assignments from students. However, the grading process seems to bring the efficiency to a screeching halt. Where can the grade be placed so it stands out from the assignment? How can rubric selections be made easily? I like rubrics but the final grade can be tedious to calculate. It takes too many highlights, clicks and time to format grades on 125 submissions. OrangeSlice: Teacher Rubric increases the teacher’s grading productivity by eliminating repetitive clicks, presenting the rubric selections in an easy to use format and presenting the final grades in a consistent, professional format. More time is created for the teacher to provide the needed constructive feedback their students need for success.

I love this Add-on. I really appreciate the attention to detail with the ability now to track student growth over time (when re-assessing progress). This will work really well with projects that are revised over time or for key concepts and skills that are repeatedly assessed for mastery over numerous projects over a semester. Thank you.

I agree. What a wonderful tool! Any chance of a touch screen mobile version for android?

How does Orange Slice even make money when this is free? It has been a long time since I have been excited about a rubric tool. This one just makes sense in every way. I am glad it is free. It just makes sense to use it. The colour coding of the heading row and column also look great. Yay!

I LOVE this - just curious - what are your work arounds for group projects? I would love if there was a feature that allowed you to customize this rubric so you could effectively grade (lets just say) a group of 4 students on the same project. I like to reserve a section of the project grade for presentation and would love it if I could vary that based on each student presenting (instead of having to create 4 separate rubrics).

I love using this with my classes for all things rubric related! I just presented Orange Slice at an Edtech GAFE Summit today! The session was great! Now, here's my plea. Can you create this add-on for grading Slides presentations? I know Goobric + Doctopus works with Slides, however I find that entire system incredibly cumbersome. I would love an Orange Slice rubric option that I could add to a new slide and have the program run exactly the way it does!

I love using this add-on once I get everything open/set up. But I wish it were just a bit more fluid to use with Google Classroom. My wishlist includes: -Being able to just move to the next student document without having to close my tab, open a new document, enable the add-on, etc. -Having a way to temporarily (at least) store a rubric so that I don't have to copy it into the student's document each time. I realize that I can solve the issue by simply including a rubric before pushing out the assignment, but there are times when I'm not sure which item I will grade students on, or sometimes we only grade a few questions out of a set. This is not an essential upgrade, but if it's feasible, it would be helpful. Thank you for all the work you have already put into this product. It's such an amazing start, and it helps me to be consistent when looking at student work.

Easy to use for both teachers and students. I wish the application automatically generated data in a spreadsheet for each assignment graded.

I love this! It's really lifechanging for me. My old workflow was clunky and much slower. Also, I don't think the kids ever read the graded rubrics. Now it will be much more obvious for them to access them. I do have a question though. I've not been able to find a customer service page on your website, so I'll just mention it here. I work on a PC at work and a Mac at home. I use Chrome on both machines. Everything was working smoothly on the PC, but on the Mac I am getting a strange error whenever I process grades: 556 Rubric Table 1. I just click OK and the grade processes correctly, but it's something I wasn't seeing on the PC. Thanks!

Have been thrilled to discover this rubric. One question, is there a limitation to how many categories you can use? I created a rubric with 20 categories but can only weight the first 11.

MaryAnn, hmmm.... laughing here, I don't remember if there is a limit to the number of categories. I'm sure I stopped with weighting categories at 11 because of significant digits. Do you need more than 20 categories weighted? I can see what it would take in the program. We can move the conversation to email, if you like.... OrangeSlice.edu@gmail.com

Waiting for full functionality and to be able to distribute the rubrics, but I'm sure once that happens it will be great!

It has been working great. I created a final draft template with the rubric in it and make a copy of that doc for each student using Google Classroom. Up until today I have been a big fan and have been sharing it with other teachers in my building. The issue I'm having today is that when I open the add-on all the grade categories are expanded, I can't collapse any of them (even when I score one) and I can't access any of the settings. I went through and scored it and clicked "process rubric' and the animation happens to show it is thinking, but it never completes the action.
