I don't really understand some of the comments, it continues to work for me using the Chrome plug-in. And the permissions to Google Drive is because that is where all the pdfs are stored for you, so they require access to that space. It's not perfect and for policy research reports etc it continues to not be able to install the citations properly but I think that is more to do with the organisations publishing these not appending DOI type to the pdfs. I guess anyway. Anyway, it's ease of use mean that I favour this over other products still, but then I also get it paid for by the university.

This is a great tool to use although I believe it can be improved through consistent updates in concert with changing writing styles i.e. APA 7th edition. For example, paper pile continues to struggle with identifying editors of a book correctly in the reference. I hope paper pile will ameliorate these complications as I am continuing to pay for their services. Altogether, this app saves me a lot of time in my research.

READ THE APP PERMISSIONS FIRST. After reading the permission requests there was no way I was going to follow through with the installation. Can you please explain why you require such extreme permissions to my google drive? It seems absurd...

Mediocre at best. Say you use it to insert an IEEE reference like this "blaba [1], [2]". It'll insert something like "[1], [1], [2]" and if there are a lot of references you'll have to fix each one of them, because insertion is bugged. Worst thing is that they even have a (subpar) paid service.

used to work, now I am not able to find citations that are easily found in Google Scholar. I was trying titles, authors, years, doi... Add on is simply useless

I earlier liked this resource. However, now, we are neither able to add any new citations nor we can find the citations through the search bar. Using titles, authors, year, and DOI did not help!

Functionally, with what little I used it, it seems to work alright. But, I need it to manage citations in IEEE style, and while it offers 25 different IEEE styles (!), none of them ACTUALLY cite in IEEE style, which makes it useless to me.
