Overview
The Screenplay Formatter is a tool that adds the capability of formatting your document files to meet screenplay standards.
This app features basic script formatting functions (such as setting your indents for speakers and dialog) tied into easy to use buttons. Each button will assist you as you switch effortlessly between scenes and action, as well as speakers and dialog. The screenplay formatting tool also includes the basic scene transitions to help save time.

The App will always check your current selection, or cursor location, to decide if you are creating something new, or reformatting something old. If you have text selected, it will adjust the indents of that paragraph to the new format and if the format requires uppercase, it will automatically convert it for you. If you don't, it will ask you what you want to add and insert it directly into the script.

The features the Screenplay Formatter add are; adding Headers, setting Action text, setting a new Speaker, adding Parenthesis to dialog, setting Dialog text, setting New Characters, setting Special Effects, and inserting pre-made transitions.

As a number of other people have said, shortcuts need to be added. But I've used this add-on quite a bit and it works well enough!

It's better than nothing but pretty cumbersome. Every time you need to enter a character name you have to go over to the right margin, click on Speaker, type the name, click enter, and go back to the page and drop the cursor a line for dialogue. Same for hypotheticals, action, dialogue--you have to go over to the Screenplay Formatter column and click on the element, then return to your script and type. If there were keyboard shortcuts it would be a breeze.

I love this. I am now righting my 3ed screenplay with Screenplay Formatter. It has made such a huge difference in my screenplay weighting. I would definitely recommend Screenplay Formatter to any of my co-writers.=)

I absolutely love this plugin. As with all apps, there could be some updates to it. -Needs shortcuts -When clicking "Speaker", I'm constantly forgetting that the cursor isn't automatically in the box. Minor, I know, but that could use some work. I'm giving this a 5 star to support the developer and because it just works. My suggestions above wont, for now, hinder my use of the app. It's simply the best free plugin, probably the only one, to use for screenplay writing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

It's a bit clunky, such as you have to move the cursor into the creation box, and there are things missing like a title page function. But overall, this helped me to learn the ropes and double check my formatting as I went along.
