Overview
The Slack Add-On for Gmail helps you move conversations along by bringing context from an email into a Slack channel or direct message. You can add a message and include attachments along with the email as well.

When to send email into Slack:
 - Email chain getting too noisy? Send it into Slack where you can discuss quickly and move forward.
 - Have an idea you want to share with your team? Send it along to a relevant channel with a note about your insights.
 - Need to coordinate a response to a customer question? Flag your teammates in Slack and use the email content to set context.

How the Add-On works:
 - Start by installing the Slack for Gmail Add-On.
 - Open any email and click on the Slack icon in the right-hand side of your inbox.
 - Choose the channel or person you’d like to forward the email to inside of Slack.
 - Add a message and include attachments if you’d like.
 - Voilà! The email is forwarded into Slack where anyone in the channel or direct message you shared it to can see the email content and open attachments.

About Slack:
Slack is a collaboration hub for work, no matter what work you do. It’s a place where conversations happen, decisions are made, and information is always at your fingertips. With Slack, your team is better connected.

Nice, but any plans to add the ability to exclude history and send the given email only?

Could you "separate the thread at this point" before you send it to slack? Pretty sure GMail has a feature to do that.

Slack Technologies CEO supports Abortion as "Equality" but that is a good reason for my boycott of Slack. Bye bye, Stewart and Nimwitt.

Not that it has anything to do with their product (or any say over womens' bodies that you seem to be ok with), that freedom of choice is every women's right. Your opinion on the matter matters an absolutely zero, and they have the right to terminate at their discretion. The world has too many people anyway. Abortion is a woman's personal choice and should never be judged. I support Slack more now, thanks for the info.

All my wishes have been answered. - Works as expected on Web & Gmail Android Mobile App (You'll find the slack icon at the bottom-most after you open an email), - Very hand while you're on the go, & need to forward emails into slack. I use it on my mobile to one click forward email with attachments to self (DM) & later pick it up on the desktop.

Really...why would you write a review if you have not used it, much less give it stars...

For some emails is showing this text: "Content not available for this message" and because of that I can't forward email. I don't understand why it works for some emails and doesn't for others...

Just spent 14 hours going trying to fix this with Slack Support. They're a special bunch. So no one else wastes 14 hours... 1. Go to your Apps page. 2. Click the third option, "Marketplace app". You now see the marketplace apps you have installed, along with Slack for Gmail. 3. Click "Slack for Gmail". 4. This brings you to the Slack for Gmail app page. Click the trashcan icon in the top right corner to delete the app. 5. Return to the Slack for Gmail page and click "Visit Site to Install". At the top of the page, you now see "Domain Install" and "Individual Install" buttons. 6. Click either Domain or Individual install. Return to your inbox and begin forwarding emails to Slack again. It's fixed.
