Overview
This add-on will help you make a good first impression of your work in Google Docs. It supplements the standard styles with 20 designed sets that give your documents a professional look.
Pick a style set to see its full-size preview right in the sidebar. Once you find the design you like, apply it in whole or in part:

- Style the entire document. If you have the structure of your document with its titles, headings, and normal text, click "Apply style" to add a finishing touch. The add-on will change the text font, size, and alignment of each part according to the style set of your choice.

- Format the selected paragraphs. Click on the preferred style in the sidebar to apply it to any paragraph, e.g. title, heading, or normal text.

Enjoy four new groups of style sets to make your document look consistent and complete!

If you have any questions about the add-on, please post them here: https://www.ablebits.com/docs/howto-style-google-docs/
We'll be happy to assist!

I really like how this gives my documents a more sophisticated look and it's easy to use.

Works as advertised, but, and i'm sure this is due to Google's restrictions on how add-ons can be built, the add-on is bulky and not very well integrated into the UI. If the built-in styles were more inspiring, it would be more intriguing. But as it is, it doesn't add enough value to make up for the poor UX.

This doesn't work at all. When I click Apply Style it just says "Working..." but never does anything.

Can't add custom styles. Except for bold, italic, and underline, Styles are applied unilaterally to entire paragraph. Only way to use a different style is to import it with cut'n'paste, highlight it, and then use the format painter on each instance. CANNOT select ALL instances (or even more than one item) to paste the format over all of them. Clumsy and awkward to use.

No possibility of creating custom styles.

styles directly applied to text only. This does not modify the actual paragraph styles, so new text will not be styled correctly.

@Filipe Gazzinelli L F Werneck: just sent you some feedback on your own add-on (Paragraph Styles+). While you couldn't affect Google Docs' native styles, couldn't store a custom styles in the add-on itself? And then cascade any changes to that style to text where that style was applied in the past? Really hope you can update your own add-on based on my feedback! Cheers!!

Then just write everything you have before changing the style.

True but this is a limitation of the Google Docs API - Add-ons can not modify the built-in Styles

Love it. Would be even greater with some more styles!

Love it! Cool add-on. You can quickly make standard text good-looking. It's nice to see both serious and some lighter styles. It makes sense to have this add-on at hand.
