I only put 3 stars because I had to to post. I read the reviews here right after adding it to my add-ons. I was concerned about the comments that the add-on has access to so much personal information. Then, to my surprise, I found a couple emails from Google saying the same thing. Should I be concerned? This was the only app I could find that inserts date/time into my docs.

you have to read the reviews before you get it... to see if it is a good app to use

The date is not automatically updated when document is reopened (( It's not timestamp, but only a routine operation to insert a currenet date and time. In addition, I really want to insert the file name, which will also be updated automatically.

Requires a ridiculous number of permissions in exchange for something which should be included in google docs. You do know that this can copy all of your docs (and emails?) and archive them to a cloud service somewhere for posterity, right? All that for the luxury of pasting in today's date? Ridiculous. Why trust this unknown when you can't trust Facebook? Don't trust anyone with such access. I'm removing it right now...

Agreed, didn't even get to add this when I saw all the permissions it required. No thank you!

This app is great and easy to use and once installed works without issues. I've been using for months.

Do you worry about the permissions? Do you use Docs with private information and are you okay with them seeing all of your docs and the data?

Any way the add-on can automatically update "Today's date" each day the document is opened ?

I downloaded it, but it's not showing up in my docs as and addon.

Google docs would ask for permission again before it works. Maybe in some case it was missed. Suggestion is to re-install again.

Thanks, it's simple but helpful. Could you please add option to change text formatting from normal to header 1 (2 or 3)

It seems that the Google docs allows user to select some text and choose the header1 on the above toolbar, then the selected text goes to be header1. (maybe I misunderstanding?)

Your add-in would be stellar, if you added an ordinal number date format, i.e. "26th" June, 2016. Needed in legal pleadings.

It supports new formats of %+d, %enB and %enb. For example, "%+d %enB, %Y" gets "1st October 2017" since the release on 2017-10-07
