Features of Zipdoc:

*Efficient Loading - Since ZIP Doc loads each ZIP file in the browser and not on a server, ZIP files can be opened very efficiently and quickly. The contents of the ZIP files are never saved anywhere and are only accessible to the user who opened the ZIP file.
*Unique URLs - Each ZIP Doc has a unique URL which can be saved or bookmarked for later use. Since the opened ZIP files are not saved on a server, users can re-upload new ZIP files multiple times.
*Dowloadable Files - ZIP Doc allows users to download any and all file types within a ZIP file to the device. This means that these file types and more and be saved any time - doc, csv, mp4, json, jpg, pptx, docx, jpg, png, gif, xlsx, pdf.
*Google Drive - Extract and save important files in Google Drive as individual files rather than an uneditable ZIP file. This allows users to save important files that are accessible any time in Drive.
*Always Free - ZIP Doc is always free which means no more trying to get WinZip for free. We've all tried WinZip's free trial but that trial period is short and once it's over you'll need to buy a WinZip license.
*All Platforms - Meant to be an alternative to WinZip (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android), ZIP Doc is available on all platforms because it's a web app on all major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.

Use Cases for Zipdoc:

Unzipping ZIP Files.
Gmail and Google Drive .do not allow users to unzip ZIP files, so ZIP Doc can do this for you. ZIP Doc allows users to unzip ZIP files in order to interact with the files contained in the ZIP file.

Extracting ZIP Files.
ZIP Doc allows users to download any files contained in the ZIP file to their device or to Google Drive.

Unique Unzipping URLS.
ZIP Doc gives users a unique URL that can be bookmarked and reused anytime they need to unzip a ZIP File or extract files from a ZIP File.

Zipdoc is a Web App:

Since ZIP Doc is a zip file extractor web app, it runs locally in the browser. This means that when you upload a ZIP file to extract, it's not uploaded to a server. Instead it's available right in your browser window allowing for the unzipping of very large ZIP files without latency. It also means that your files are not stored anywhere and will only be available to you in your browsers window. We don't collect any information about the files you upload, extract, download or save to Drive.

This is the opposite of WinZip which is software that has to be downloaded to your device before use. Is WinZip free? Well, no because after the free trial you have to pay for it. You can download winzip free and winzip rar download but it's not a free zip file opener like ZIP Doc. If you want a free unzip program and zip extractor you shouldn't use WinZip. How to open a zip file is easy with free unzip.

What is a ZIP File?

ZIP files use the file extension .ZIP and support lossless data compression so multiple large files can be stored within the ZIP file. ZIP files have a user interface with icons that make it a file system that can be easily navigated. Originally invented in 1989 by Thom Henderson through PKWARE, the PKZIP utility was quickly supported by Microsoft Windows. Later, Apple built in support for ZIP files in their Mac OS X operating system (10.3 and above).

ZIP files are in heavy use today, however two of the major cloud services, Gmail and Google Drive don't support the unzipping of ZIP files natively. So, users need to use 3rd party tools to do so.
